The Department of Philosophy at the University of Chicago invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter. Minimum teaching load of four courses per year over three quarters, at graduate and undergraduate levels, and usual dissertation, committee, and advising responsibilities.

The AOS and AOC of this position are open, so we welcome applications from all graduate students or recent Ph.D.s who might be strong candidates, but our department has special interest in applications in the following fields:

Twentieth-Century Continental Philosophy

Kant and Post-Kantian German Philosophy

Philosophy of Race/Racial Justice

Non-Western Philosophy
