The Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy invites submissions to be considered for inclusion in panels at the upcoming APA Pacific Division Meeting.  Submissions focusing on any area of Asian and/or Comparative philosophy will be considered.  Both individual papers and completed panel proposals are encouraged.

Assistant professor in Political Theory

The Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam invites applications for a two-year, temporary assistant professor (UD) position in Political Theory, starting 1 January 2017. Specialization is open, but we especially welcome candidates who specialize in Chinese, Buddhist, Islamic, and Africana political theories in comparative or historical perspective as well as applied ethicists or political philosophers who work on global justice, environmental ethics, ethics of war, etc. Candidates who combine such expertise with knowledge of political science research and methods are especially encouraged to apply.

I’m sending you a separate call for papers for the symposium (On Raimon Panikkar’s Intercultural Philosophy) that will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion, this November in San Antonio. Please note that this is over and above the two SACP panels that are our normal offerings at the AAR.

SACP Mini-Symposium on
Raimon Panikkar’s Intercultural Thought
San Antonio, November 18, 2016

In addition to the two regular SACP panels, the SACP will host a mini-symposium on the intercultural thought of Raimon Panikkar at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion in San Antonio. This symposium is made possible by the private financial support. It will take place on November 18 (Friday), the day before the official beginning of the AAR annual meeting in order to avoid any scheduling conflict.

SACP Sessions at the Central Division, American Philosophical Association

I would like to invite your group to request sessions at the 2017 APA Central Division meeting, which will be held at the Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center, Kansas City, MO, March 1-4, 2017. Initial requests are due by August 5, 2016, and I will need full program information by October 1, 2016.

PROPOSALS: SACP members are invited to submit an individual paper or a full panel proposal by providing the following information.

1) Name of panel topic and/or individual papers/presentations.
2) Name of individual presenter (each presenter in the case of a panel) with institutional affiliation, phone, fax, and e-mail address.
3) Abstract of individual paper of no more than 200 words. A panel abstract should contain general theme of the panel and basic focus of each component paper.
4) In the case of panels, provide name and the following information on Panel Chair/Organizer and any Discussant: institutional affiliation, phone, fax, and e-mail address.

Send proposals by email on or before Monday, September 15, 2016 to the address below.
