Dear SACP Members,

Sonia Sikka at the University of Ottawa and Anna Lannstrom at Stonehill College have created the website below to serve as a resource for primary texts, translations and secondary materials for teachers who would like to add content from global philosophical traditions to their courses.  Scholars in the field are invited to contribute to the website's content.

https://globalphilosophyresources.com/

This website provides an easy way for faculty to begin diversifying existing syllabi and courses by including materials from outside the Western canon. It contains entries on a wide variety of readings and topics in global philosophy.  Each entry provides a brief description of its topic, recommends a small number of readings and translations, and suggests possible pairings of texts and topics.

Feel free to browse!  You can search for specific topics by typing a search phrase in the search box,  selecting a category in the drop-down menu, or clicking on a tag.

This page is created by Sonia Sikka, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Ottawa, and Anna Lännström, Professor of Philosophy at Stonehill College. It is managed by assistance from Manvitha Singamsetty, PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Ottawa.

The Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy was established in 1967 as a non-profit organization aimed at advancing the development of the disciplines of Asian and comparative philosophy in the international academic arena, and bringing together Asian and Western philosophers, as well as other scholars interested in Asian and world philosophy, for a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas. The Society seeks to provide the professional outlet for philosophers doing work in non-Western and comparative areas of philosophy. The group serves as the largest and most well-known professional organization for scholars in the fields of Asian and global philosophy.
