Dear SACP members,

I hope this message finds you well.

This year the Society elects two officials: Vice President and one Board member.

By the end of this calendar year, Robin Wang will complete her term as President of the SACP, and Jin Y. Park will begin her presidency in January 2018 for a two-year term. After long service for the Society at various positions, Douglas Berger will step down from his position as a member of the Board of Directors. Also, after many years’ service as Secretary, Mary Bockover will step down as well. Thanks Robin, Doug, and Mary for your service to the Society!

Vice presidential election (elect one):
The elected person will serve as VP in 2018-2019 and automatically become president for a two-year term (2020-2021).

Candidates (in an alphabetical order) are:

(1) Sarah Flavel (Bath Spa University); (2) John W. M. Krummel (Hobart and William Smith Colleges); (3) Bryan Van Norden (Yale-NUS College)

Election of a Board member (elect one):
The elected person will serve as a board member for three years (2018-2020, renewable).

Candidates (in an alphabetical order) are:

  1. Aaron Creller (University of Northern Florida); (2)  Peter Hershock (East-West Center, University of Hawaii); (3) Joshua Mason (West Chester University),

Secretary
There was only one nomination for the position of Secretary, Marzenna Jakubczak (Pedagogical University of Cracow), and Marzenna accepted the position.
